Bil Senedd Cymru (Rhestrau Ymgeiswyr Etholiadol)| Senedd Cymru (Electoral Candidate Lists) Bill

Ymateb gan Amanda Cairns | Evidence from Amanda Cairns

What are your views on the general principles of the Bill and the need for legislation to deliver the Welsh Government’s stated policy objective (to make the Senedd a more effective legislature by ensuring it is broadly representative of the gender make-up of the population)?

The less legislation the Welsh government is involved with the better.  I would simply prefer good people who put people before party to be elected and to be good at their job.

What are your views on the system of enforcement and potential sanctions for non-compliance proposed in the Bill?

This will simply mean that anyone will be added to lists to 'make up the numbers' meaning parties can select yes men who put party before people

Are there any potential barriers to the implementation of the Bill’s provisions? If so, what are they, and are they adequately taken into account in the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum and Regulatory Impact Assessment?

The actual competence of the bureaucrats and politicians who leech the electorate dry with their phoney laws and lust for power

Are any unintended consequences likely to arise from the Bill?

A positive consequence would be that it wakes up the Welsh to the terrible politics that dictate their lives.

What are your views on the Welsh Government’s assessment of the financial and other impacts of the Bill?

Disdain that you think its ok to spew away tax payers money on a power grab.

What are your views on the balance between the information contained on the face of the Bill and what is left to subordinate legislation? Are the powers for Welsh Ministers to make subordinate legislation appropriate?

No politician or bureaucrat should have any power when it comes to tinkering with democracy for a power grab

Do you have any views on matters relating to the legislative competence of the Senedd including compatibility with the European Convention on Human Rights?

We have so much legislation about rights that no-one is actually free to say what they want unless it complies with the view of "the party".  We need a simplified system that allows candidates to stand for what they believe in. the best people for the job decided by the people.

Do you have any views on matters related to the quality of the legislation, or to the constitutional or other implications of the Bill?

They is no quality that comes out of Cardiff Bay.

I wish you'd concentrate on fixing education, health, hospitability, transport and grow business.  Instead you want more politicians who are very likely to make things so much worse.

Are there any other issues that you would like to raise about the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum or any related matters?

Its an affront to real democracy

Anything else?
